Chelsea was founded in 2002 in New York under the name Aspen Therapeutics, Inc. In July of 2004, the company was renamed Chelsea Therapeutics, Inc. and established its new corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
In February of 2005, Chelsea completed a reverse merger with Ivory Capital Corporation and began trading on the bulletin board under the ticker IVRC. In July of 2005, the company reincorporated in the state of Delaware under the name Chelsea Therapeutics International, Ltd. and began trading under the ticker CHTP.
