Company Sharpens Focus on Growth Opportunities within the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Markets
HACKENSACK, N.J., Oct. 4 -- GoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM), a leading provider of online and wireless relay services, today announced that it has sold its prepaid calling card division to Nextcarrier Telecom, an FCC-licensed carrier providing international long distance services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"As we execute our core strategy, the Company's financial position has continued to improve. Selling the prepaid business now enables us to concentrate 100% of our capital and management resources on delivering innovative communications services, such as IP and text/video relay, to people who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing," said Dan Luis, CEO of GoAmerica. "While we have exited the prepaid business, we wish Nextcarrier well in their continued development of that business."
GoAmerica's next quarterly filing will reflect the financial results of prepaid services as a discontinued operation, which will provide investors with the ability to compare the financial performance of continuing operations with prior periods without the inclusion of prepaid services.
