BASKING RIDGE, N.J., April 6, 1999 -- Hooper Holmes, Inc. (Amex:
HH - news) the nation's leading provider of alternate-site health
information to the life and health insurance industry, announced
today that it entered into an agreement with Western Institutional
Review Board (WIRB) of Olympia, Washington. Hooper will provide
confidential onsite medically related visits in support of WIRB's
responsibility to assure the rights and safety of patients involved
in clinical research.

WIRB as it enables us to leverage our large field infrastructure
outside of our core market. While it represents less than $1
million in revenues in the first year, we expect it to grow in the
future. It also represents one of a number of future initiatives in
which we hope to provide health related information services to the
outsourcing-oriented pharmaceutical industry. Importantly, by using
our existing infrastructure, we can provide significant benefits to
this new market.''

information services to the life and health insurance industry
