The LUPO Class frigate ALMIRANTE BRION (F-22), which is undergoing a modernization for the Venezuelan Armada by Northrop Grumman's Ingalls Operations, Pascagoula,Miss., sails through the Gulf of Mexico during the ship's first sea trial, Oct. 17-18, 2001. During the sea trial, various systems were tested including propulsion, electronics and communications. The ship's combat systems will be tested during a second sea trial in November. Ingalls is also performing similar work on a second LUPO Class ship, MARISCAL SUCRE (F-21), which has completed first trials and goes on combat systems trials later this month.
