Dr. Michael Rybak Joins Ceragenix's Scientific Advisory BoardDENVER, Jan. 31, 2007 -- Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CGXP), a biopharmaceutical company focused on infectious disease and dermatology, today announced Michael J. Rybak, PharmD, MPH, FCCP, FIDSA, has joined its scientific advisory board. Dr. Rybak is the associate dean for research and professor of pharmacy at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (EACPHS), and an adjunct professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Rybak also serves as the director of the Anti-Infective Research Laboratory at the EACPHS, and is affiliated with Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Northeastern University, PharmD from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and MPH from the School of Medicine at Wayne State University. Important to Ceragenix's developing line of anti-infectives, Dr. Rybak's primary research focus is antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and their relationship to bacterial resistance. He has published more than 200 manuscripts, book chapters, and review articles in scientific journals on topics that included antimicrobial PK/PD and resistance to antimicrobial agents, the importance of bactericidal drugs, and the assessment of patient outcome as it relates to antimicrobial resistance issues. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, the American Society for Microbiology, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He is also a fellow of both the American College of Pharmacy and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Rybak serves as the scientific field editor for the infectious diseases section of Pharmacotherapy, as well as an editorial reviewer for a number of other scientific publications.
